日本語⇔英語の切り替えに悩む今朝

I had been talking with my husband all the way to primary school when I came across my daughter's teacher. She gave me a friendly greeting, which I appreciated for, but I couldn't switched my brain well from Japanese to English. I ended up saying just "Hi" with smile. She concerned about my daughter's cold(she took a day off the day before yesterday) and then asked me how's she going. For me, my brain still went blank. I had several things to tell to the teacher though.

I mumbled like that, "Yes..she took a day off...because of her illness. Ah..She catch...I mean she 'caught' cold. She does... I mean she 'didn't' have fever but lots of cough. She is fine now. Thank you for concerning."

It was totally not complicated English! I wonder how other people use different languages properly.

要するに散々日本語を使った後では、英語は全く口から出てこないなというお話です。 ああ全くボケ防止に良いですよね!と自分を慰めていますおはようございました。
